Our Mission
Oildale Mutual Water Company is a private, not-for-profit corporation which was founded by area citizens to represent the interests of its customers/stockholders. Each of the 10,000+ retail customers is also a stockholder, having a personal interest in the company. Since its founding in 1919, the Company has been committed to providing the best quality water available at the least cost to its customers/stockholders.
The current service area encompasses approximately 2510 square miles, north of the City of Bakersfield in Kern County, at the south end of the San Joaquin Valley, approximately 110 miles north of Los Angeles and 290 miles southwest of San Francisco.
Oildale Mutual Water Company’s retail supply of water is distributed to the Oildale community by North of the River Municipal Water District (NORMWD), a public water agency formed in 1969. You can find more information about NORMWD here.
Meter Installation for all Flat Rate Services
Our hardworking crews are in the process of installing meters on Flat Rate services throughout the community. If your service currently does not have a meter installed, one will be installed by the end of 2024.
Customers with these new meters will continue to be billed at the flat rate until December 31, 2024. The State of California regulations require all water services in the State to be metered by January. 1, 2025.
